Hello all!
In April 2022 I had a transanal endoscopic resection of the rectum to remove a suspected cancerous polyp. Biopsy diagnosed in June, 2022 as an aggressive high grade small cell endocrine carcinoma. MRI, CT and PET scans showed possible metastasis to liver and lung. I then had 4 cycles of chemo - carboplatin and etoposide - which subsequent scans showed had not had not worked on liver and lung metastises which were still growing.
The Oncologist is now suggesting radiotherapy on lung and liver. I have a repeat sigmoidoscopy next week to check the rectum.
I am told that this type of bowel cancer is rare - anyone out there who has had the same thing?
Hi chrisjw
I don't have the same type of cancer as you but I noticed that you hadn't had any replies to your post yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily spotted.
While you're waiting for replies you could use the search function in the group to look for previous posts which mention 'aggressive high grade small cell endocrine carcinoma'.
Wishing you all the best
