I’ve recently been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine carcinoma, type 4. It’s spread to my liver. I was referred to the Neuroendocrine cancer team at the Freeman hospital in Newcastle; after studying my details they decided I can be treated here in Stockton-on-Tees, at North Tees Hospital. The primary carcinoma is to be treated with chemotherapy as the usual treatments for NETs is not appropriate (the consultant told me that my already rare cancer is “unusual”.
Just wondering if anyone else has a similar diagnosis.
Hi Zareeba and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I don't have the same type of cancer as you but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily seen.
While you're waiting for replies, you could have a look through previous posts and people's profiles to see if anyone has had a similar diagnosis.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
