Hi, happy to share any info if it helps! I was diagnosed after 20 years of pain in 2018 with a primary pancreatic NET which had spread to lymph nodes and liver.
Had two major surgeries, chemo, and more recently radiation therapy (PRRT) and been on Lanreotide Injection for a few years.
You are allowed a down day and I would suggest counselling. I have had a lot and still am as NETs aren't straightforward and mine did progress even when on Lanreotide. Mine can only be managed and not cured so a long battle which can be hard but you have to keep fighting. The treatment available is amazing and although it is draining, mentally and physically, grab all the support you can, it does help! Don't be hard on yourself as I have been, if you don't feel like doing anything then don't! Try and get some fresh air, even if it's for 10 minute walk, try and get up, get dressed every day no matter how you feel.
I've been told I am on the younger end of the scale to get this cancer and I won't lie, sometimes it is hard and I am still working, luckily from home. Keep occupied if you can as it is important.
Hi Liza5. I just dropped by and noticed you've not had a reply to your post. I've different type of cancer and not from this group so it's a pity you haven't had an answer as yet to what is a lovely positive post. Some groups are so much busier than others and it'd be nice to see uplifting posts with good advice more often! - This is a quiet group as some forums go.
Cancer is a horrible disease and we need to do as much as we can to make it bearable by taking some of the fears away it's much easier to cope with. After my cancer episode last year I felt I'd received so much support from my group I wanted to give something back and became a Champion at the start of this year, I've never regretted a moment!
It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep writing the same thing over and over. You can amend or update it at any time.
Sending hugs, B xx

HI Recently joined and read your post. I was diagnosed in 2012 following the removal of a pancreatic distal insulinoma and spleen, out of 18 lymph nodes tested 8 showed primary , low grade. However this changed in 2015 when it metastasis to the liver, like you I have been on Lantreotide, Due to the increased episodes of hypoglycaemia, PRRT has been offered, which I am due to start in January. I must admit that I get frustrated not having the energy. your post was most welcoming and positive, thank you.
