Hi, I was diagnosed with a tumour in my abdomen and had the tumour removed 3 weeks later, am now in recovery and waiting to get back to ‘normal’, still very tired and brain is not firing properly, but was feeling positive as was told cancer would not come back.  However, theres always a but, there are potential metastases on liver and I have to see another consultant.  I am all over the place emotionally as I thought I was clear.  I have some dark days as I just dont know what is in store for me, its the waiting that is the worst.  I am trying to be positive but it is not easy as I am a carer for my partner which brings in future worries.  It is nice to read some of the posts which makes me feel a bit better so hopefully this site is going to help me.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read about the possible metastases on your liver and I know what an anxious time this will be for you.

Although I had a different type of cancer to you there's always the thought at the back of my mind 'what if'. There's no easy answer with how to deal with this as we're all different. I find that keeping busy with my hobbies pushes the thoughts further back and I've learnt over the years since I've been diagnosed that worry doesn't change the outcome but does ruin the joy we could be feeling right now.

I'm glad that reading some of the posts in this group has made you feel better and I'm sure the other members will be happy to answer any questions that you might have as well as share their experiences with you.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
