Waiting Game

I have recently been diagnosed from polyps removed during an endoscopy that looked suspicious. I have been sent to our local hospital 2 days after diagnosis for blood tests, which were frozen and sent to a Lab. From what I have been told they will use these bloods to tell me what grade and how aggressive my cancer is.

I have no idea how long the bloods take to test, but every 24hrs feels like a week.

Just starting to make my way through the forums to see if I can pick up any guidance during this bleak time.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll both find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with cancer and I know how hard waiting for test results to tell you the grade of the cancer can be.

I'm not a member of this forum, so can't help with how long it normally takes for results of this type of cancer to come back, but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and tests so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi David, I hope you got positive news. The Neuroendocrine threads always seem so quiet (problem with a rare cancer!)
