Hi.  Vespa here.  A. K. A. Kevin.

i have been on Lenolidamide for 5 months now.   Due a severe skin itching reaction the constant reduced the dose amount from 8 mg to 4 mg tablets.       This has helped but I still get itchy skin.    I have tried antihistamines but they don’t seem to work   It gets worse on the days 14-21   And better on the  none tablet days

I am seeing him again in the 3/2    And will raise it with him     Just wondered if anyone else has had this side effect   ?

  • Hi Kevin, sorry to hear you are having problems with Lenalithamide. I went on this maintenance drug after my SCT and had an awful time of it.After 2 weeks covered in a severe very uncomfortable rash and problems with my liver processing it .Antihistamine didn't ease the situation .Spoke with my consultant and we agreed I would discontinue the drug and have regular blood tests to monitor my remission which will be 2 years on April 6th .

I have had many drug intolerances during my myeloma treatment so it's become a bit of a juggling exercise to get effective treatment within my tolerance levels.

Hopefully you will find a solution with your treatnent team and I wish you all the best . Sue

  • Hi Kevin,

I was also on lenalidomide, after 10months I came off it due to the side effects. I've been off it now for 3months and still have the itching but it is easing now.

Chat with your consultant and see what's best for you.

    Best of luck..

  • Thank you for your feedback.

  • Hi Vespa I had a reaction to the lenolidamide I had hives after 7 to 14 days of taking it. They put me on lower doses  & I was given antihistamines & steroids which helped the rash but also for me to tolerate the drug.  They then started to increase I am at 7.5mg now & I am coping with it ok I have also stopped the antihistamines & steroids so far so good. I started the drug in October 2023. I also saw a dermatologist who let my team know shat the rash was & what medicines could help.

i hope the itching & rash stop soon for you.
