Hi.  I  just want to say hello.  I got diagnosed in December, on my birthday can you believe.  I am two weeks in to 6 months chemo, DVRD I think it’s called.  I’m glad to have found this place.  I’m 62 and my wife  is away acting as full time carer for her father so she is mortified that she can’t be with me.  My daughter and son are stepping up, which helps.
Right now I can barely function with total fatigue.  No sleep.  Rest doesn’t help.  Also I don’t seem to want any food. Nothing I eat tastes good and I’ve stopped eating which is bad.

Work is suffering badly.  So does anyone know if there is a point at which energy levels come back? I can barely type this message

 Cheers

  • Hi, I was diagnosed in February after a routine blood  donor appointment. After bone marrow biopsy,  MRI, heart trace etc I started chemo. Didn't even feel ill!  Had all my chemo, no side effects at all! Had my stem cell transplant in September  and after 2 more cycles of chemo, my MM is in remission!  I feel great,  no fatigue at all, I'm now on my maintenance drug Lenolidomide  so hopefully  I can start to get my life back to some normality.   My hospital have been amazing as have my family and friends.   You can and will get thru this. Dont give up hope, stay strong and positive.  By the way, I'm a 68 year old female and one last note, my husband has been amazing and supportive too.
