Hello
i was diagnosed with Myeloma in May and one of the many things I did in the first couple of weeks was to join this forum . I was scared and wanted someone to talk to.
I can’t remember how but I ended up having a one to one ( rather than group) with a lady who only in her second email to me had to tell me about the pain she was suffering and the hopelessness and anger she felt . After 5 months I now understand why she wrote what she did but at the time she made the fear so much worse I walked away from the forum
My doctor has convinced me to rejoin the group . I am struggling with neuropathy from the chemotherapy and start my stem cell transplant in the next month.
So I’m a 65 year old man feeling low somedays, anxious most days who still would like someone to talk to
Hi again Highway1, sorry to hear that things have progressed.
I don’t have Myeloma but was diagnosed way back in 1999 with a rare incurable Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma so although our conditions are different we are connected in that I have had 2 Allo (donor) Stem Cell Transplants (SCT).
SCT is a rather unique journey so with that in mind you may want to join our dedicated Stem cell transplant group where you will meet other people from various blood cancers who have navigated the Magical Mystery Tour that is SCT.
I will keep on eye open for you in the group
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
