Hi, I have just been diagnosed with Myeloma. It has destroyed some of my vertebrae and is very painful. Have been offered choice of three treatments and am choosing the VCD version. Anyone experienced this? Am frightened and emotional still.
Hi Walsher,
Welcome to the forum, although I am really sorry for the reason you have had to join. Being frightened and emotional is entirely normal when something like this happens, please be kind to yourself at this time and know that you won’t feel like this forever, even if it may take some time for you to process. I had VCD and whilst it is something I would never choose to do, I tolerated it pretty well. The most challenging part for me was the steroids, which I found changed my moods and sleeping patterns quite a bit. But the treatment was very successful for me in knocking down the myeloma cells and I also got a lot of improvement in my back pain so I am really hoping that you will experience the same.
