Welcome to the forum, although I am really sorry to read about your diagnosis. It is not going to help you much right now, but the best remedy for the shock is time. But for right now, the best I can say is to be kind to yourself, allow yourself to feel what you feel and just know that these feelings won’t last forever.
One step at a time would be my biggest advice for now. I hope that the start of treatment goes really well and please use this space for whatever you need - there is every chance that someone on here has been in the same place you are now and can hopefully help along the way.
It takes time to get your head around this. You will go through all the emotions and just go with it. If you can sit down some where quiet and write a list of questions for your consultant. Are you able to take someone with you at your next appointment? I was diagnosed back in 2001 and at that time there were few treatments available, now it is different. Take care and stay well.
Hi Barto I was diagnosed May 2020 and like you I was in shock. I thought I had pulled a muscle in my back. An MRI queried MM but to get a definite diagnosis I needed a bone biopsy which confirmed it. I’ve had 3 28 day cycles of chemo and have had my stem cells harvested. I am at the moment waiting on a stem cell transplant. The treatment can affect everyone differently but I will be happy to answer any questions about my experience up until now. I wish you well
Thanks for your kind message I am getting use to it a bit now But I’m being told that time will tell. I have had a bone marrow test which confirmed myeloma and I soon to start chemo but scared but what can I do Again thank you I hope to take up ur offer
