hello,       just wish to   make contact on the Forum,  as   health  is good,  often we only   reach out when in need of help,     to everyone who has commented on my previous posts    i thank you,

I am still in Remmision,  on  4 month checks and blood tests,  but  3 month  Zometa  injections,   only meds i take are for my Neuropothy,  ( Pregablin)

i  recently  had  a cochlear implant,   and this as done wonders for my     relationships,  and also  my self esteem,   able to  hold conversations in shops again,    and   with   a bluetooth  device have clear phone conversations,

still active,        just prepared the garden for winter,  put some bulbs in   and a family wedding to look forward to in December,  and a grandson born out in Australia   coming over   for the wedding of our daughter,    which is very exciting,

so to all patients going through tough times,   i send my heart felt best wishes for better times,   dont lose the faith or the fight,  its worth it !

special shout to      who was always there with a kind word and advise,  and  an inspiration to us all

thanks  Mike

  • Hi Kevin  and great to hear from you….. and even better that things are going well.

Yesterday was the day when my youngest granddaughter proudly said…… “you are only one year older than me grandad”……. and my oldest daughter can say that she is 34 years older than me…… the fun and joys of life 10 years post my second Allo Stem Cell Transplant…….. I had 10 candles on my cake yesterday.

  • Kevin and Mike, same here.

Things were pretty grim when I was diagnosed nearly 3 years ago. I was at stage 3 and high risk. It was a lot to take in.

I don't have any grandchildren. However, since then, I have seen my "kids" (they are adults) making all sorts of progress in life, whether it has been work, studies or in their romantic lives!

I have also been on many holidays (it helps that I have a few quid in the bank), been to music festivals and concerts, been on a helicopter ride: you name it!

Having been so low a couple of years ago, I try to enjoy every single day, and take nothing for granted. I also do what I can about keeping things this way: eating healthily, minimising stress and aiming to exercise daily.

I don't know how long this first remission will last, or more generally what the future will bring, but for now, life is good.
