Just a quick question someone may be able to answer, my brother texted earlier after his first month of chemo for Multiple Myeloma and said his 'numbers' had gone from 630 to 200...now I presume this is some sort of blood test, hoping someone may be able to add a bit of context.
Thank you.
Thanks for the reply will check out 'light chains'.
Yes you were right Lambda light chain numbers, which seems if it is that type of Multiple Myeloma to be one of the toughest unfortunately.
My light chains were very very high I had a very aggressive treatment & 2 SCT of which I am now in complete remission be positive I know it is hard even at the toughest of times . Thinking of you all on your journey.
Yes I did read where a 35yo ladies Lambda light chain numbers were 8000, so much higher than Matts.
Were your high numbers Lambda or Kappa if you don't mind me asking?
Hi Christopher J sorry for late reply. My light chains are Lambda light chains & at the beginning my counts were 14,500 I am in complete remission & my numbers are 8 I intend to stay this way for a very very long time. I have fought hard for a year so I’m not gonna give in easy. Please tell your brother to be positive his team will support him all the way.
Thanks for the reply JSB4,
Goodness me that is high, thrilled to here you are doing well now and am sure it will stay that way.
Regards Chris.
