My brother in NZ has just been diagnosed with MM he starts 14 weeks of chemo soon but is also having 5 days of radiotherapy have not seem many on this forum speak of radiotherapy, guess it is not a good sign but perhaps others have also had this type of treatment?
Thank you.
Christopher J so sorry to hear your brother has MM . My husband also has MM snd was diagnosed end of January this year he has since had 4 rounds of chemo induction therapy and a stem cell transplant but right back at the beginning he to had 5 days of radiotherapy on his back to reduce a tumour caused by myeloma cells which was causing him lots of pain and had caused a pathological fracture . It made such a difference to his pain within 3 days his pain had gone ( doesn’t work that quickly for everyone can take a few weeks ) but he didn’t suffer any real ill effects and it gave him back a relatively normal life and the strength to get fit ready to face his stem cell transplant . So don’t worry unduly that radiotherapy is a bad sign it’s used if the circumstances are right to help with pain . Best Wishes to you and your brother.
OK, well that is good to hear.
Thanks for that and the kind wishes Kent Lass.
