Hi new here, my dad diagnosed with myeloma in October last year, had ,12 hour operation on his spine as it are away his bone, given the all clear in march, today he is hospital again been there for two weeks now having his second line of treatment, on a high dose of dex and very confused, just been told yesterday that his heart is now only working at 50%. His platelets are really low as and has had several infusions of platlets since we went in hospital. I am so scared for him he is only ,79 an got so much more to give.
Hi Hengi, I am sorry to hear about your Dad. I have a different type of cancer to your Dad, but noticed your post had not been answered.
It is very scary when a family member receives a cancer diagnoses, and the fear of what is ahead, but talking to others who are in a similar situation to yourself does help you through this difficult time. I wonder if you might benefit from joining one of the support groups for people who are caring for loved ones with cancer. There are 3 different support forums on the community you can join.
