Hi,
I'm on my 3rd cycle of treatment, and I have started experiencing numbness in my legs, really bad, if I sit they are numb, walking whatever they are like almost constantly numb, my skin feels tight, like when I try to bend my knees it feels tight and uncomfortable like there is a restriction there and can't do it properly, sorry nisnhard to explain. I have also put a lot of weight on since I started the treatment and I'm not sure if all is related. Has anyone experience this? Should I be worried?
Thank you all
X
Hi Vextal,
I am really sorry to read what you are experiencing at the moment. This is not something I have experienced so I am not sure I can be of much help unfortunately. I would definitely mention anything unusual like this to your medical team and get their advice. The chances are that they will have seen this before and will know what to do.
Here’s hoping you can get a quick fix for whatever is causing it.
Greg
Hi Vextal,
I have been recently been diagnosed with Myeloma, & have had similar symptoms to those you are describing , in fact that was how I found I had Myeloma, I was originally being tested for peripheral neuropathy but all the tests came back negative, My consultant ordered a series off blood tests which showed some abnormalities so referred me to Haematology & after scans blood tests & biopsy had the diagnosis, I describe it like wearing a very tight wetsuit (used to dive) around my lower legs really tigh around the front of the ankles in my case worde when getting upm I also get a lot of cramping in my feet especialy again in bed, I hve not yet started with any treatment, waiting for the consultant to speak t me this friday when the latest bone scan results are in. Hope you stay well and I agree it is a very difficult feeling to explain to others.
you are not alone
Brian
Thank you Brian, you are right that's the feeling a tight wetsuit. I raised the issue with my nurse last week who said not to worry and that the meds can play havoc with system in general. She also told me not to worry about weight gain as when I get my stem cell transplant I would most definitely be losing it. I really appreciate your time and kindness, it is nice to know we are not alone in this journey. Hope your treatment starts soon and all goes well, keeps us updated.

Reference weight, I have been told I am per-diabetic and should lose weight but with SFSN causing foot pain and leg cramps it’s is very difficult to exercise & the problem is the people from the pre-diabetic clinic don’t seem to understand the problems, Also being 75 doesn’t help
