Hello everyone; I hope you are all coping in these unprecedented circumstances - it has been a while since I have posted on here which has been a good thing because everything was going well for my husband. However, after only 18 months since his stem cell transplant, his paraproteins are slowly rising - now at 24 - but more worryingly, his kidney function has deteriorated significantly. We have been having telephone appointments since lockdown but now they want to see him on Wednesday to discuss options. They have said either treatment or another stem cell transplant - if it is another transplant, then that is a blow as we envisaged his frozen stem cells to be used in a few years, not now. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
Hi Claro,
It is good to hear from you again although I am desperately sorry about the context. I don’t have any experience of relapse, I know there are members around who sadly do have that experience and I hope they’ll be along soon to offer you some support, advice and hope, the latter of which I believe there is a lot to be had when it comes to myeloma as treatments keep developing.
The main reason for my post was to let you know that I’m thinking of you at this time and am sending you my best wishes for today’s meeting.
Greg
