Help with SPEP & IgA result

Hi there,

My GP has run an SPEP recently on me and the result was total globulin 34 g/l and IgA 367 mg/dl. My ESR is also high at 22. Creatinine is 90umol which again I've read is on the higher end of normal.

I have read these fall within normal range, but are in the higher end of normal.

GP has now requested urine sample for BJ protein.

I have had ongoing pain in my hip for around 2 years now, shoulder pain for approx. 6 months. Physio hasn't helped at all so they suggested I request an x-ray of my hip and shoulder. GP is arranging x-ray on hip and ultrasound on shoulder.

I have MM in my family but I also have idiopathic intracranial hypertension which I've read has a link to MM.

I understand until the urine is tested there's no definitive answer but I was wondering if anybody has had "normal" SPEP but still been diagnosed with MM?

Thanks, Kate.
