Hi everyone.
I was diagnosed a year ago with Myeloma.
For about the last 3 ish months I have suffered lower back pain. I am now taking Cocodomol for it, which only helps the pain sometimes now.
I had an MRI repeated, and I had another bone marrow biopsy repeated to. All results came back ok, and I was told that my plasma cells (is it????) were at 50% at the moment.
I wanted to ask anyone else about what symptoms they have, as I get a lot of headaches, and I am sooooooo tired, and feel quite nauseous every day. Just wondered if these are normal symptoms of Myeloma??
Thank you for reading

Hi Kerry,
I am nearly 5 years out from treatment now so my memory is hazy in terms of symptoms and side effects. I think what I’ve learned during this time is that everyone experiences treatment and myeloma differently. I think all of them symptoms you mention could equally be myeloma and side effects from the treatment of myeloma. If they are really bothering you, I would definitely encourage you to speak with your consultant and see if they have any ideas that can help you. It is great that the MRI and bone marrow biopsy didn’t show up anything concerning, which should hopefully give you some confidence, although I know it’s not much comfort if you’re still struggling with the pain. Re: the 50% plasma cells, I’m sorry I’m not quite sure what that means. Again, if you’re unclear re: what the medical professionals and saying to you, I would definitely get them to explain it in more simple language just so that you fully understand what their saying.
They say that with myeloma, the patient is in for the long haul, and I think sadly there might be some truth in that, but you shouldn’t suffer in silence, I would definitely mention these problems to the medical teams and ask them for advice as to what might make things better.
I’m really hoping that you get some better health soon Kerry.
