Clinical trials

Hi, my hubby diagnosed with mesothelioma in Feb. Such a shock as they gave 1 to 2 years without treatment as he was alright at T3N1M0. Thankfully he had been accepted on a clinical trial in Manchester. Like so many of the comments I'm putting a brave face on but crumbling inside. From 1 scan to the next it had doubled so I'm now worried. Although he seems to be staying positive he appears very tired all the time. Has anyone had any success with a trial when all else wouldn't work? Any advice would be appreciated.

  • My husband did not have any luck with the treatment he passed away after the third one. Sending prayers and hugs spending time with him and praying for as much time as possible with him is all you can do.my husband was diagnosed in August of 23 and passed in October 23.

  • Oh I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Sending you a hug. Just hope it can give a little more time.

  • Hi Kirkwick

My husband started a clinical trial in Manchester in December 2024 sadly it didn’t work for him, things deteriorated quicker than at any time since his diagnosis - he sadly lost his fight on 31 January.  He had tried immunotherapy & chemotherapy last year but none of them worked so his only option was the trial.  The trial my husband was  on was a phase 1 trial so only previously tried in the lab.  Hope the trial your husband has been offered works for him Fingers crossedFingers crossed
