My hubbie has been diagnosed with Mesothelioma in May of this year, he is not well enough for chemotherapy just yet, & immunotherapy is not available on N.H.S . His weight loss is very worrying. Trying my best to help give him small meals, milk shakes etc.

Sorry. Sounds tough.
Do contact Hasag. They have been brilliant. Depending on how and when he was exposed, you might be able to get compensation and payment to have treatment privately. We have tried immunotherapy privately at the Marsden in Sutton.
Is he on steroids? That made a massive difference for my dad.
All the best to you both.

Did the immunotherapy help? How much does it cost?
Hi. Unfortunately for us it didn’t and my father passed away last weekend. He had two rounds of Nivolumab which I think are about £3-4k each. We used insurance. It is the more gentle of the drugs and he didn’t have many side effects. If it had worked, we would have moved on to the Ipilimumab which has greater side effects. We can take comfort that we tried everything. I wish you lots of luck. Mary O’Brien and her team at the Marsden were excellent. X
PS. The other one is more expensive - about £15k a round.
Thanks for that, and so very sorry to hear about your dad.
A shame the NHS won't give it to people as a 1st line treatment. But I suppose they're running out of money.
Thank you. At those sorts of costs I can understand why! If you don’t have insurance, do talk to Hasag and look at compensation. Best of luck.
