My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 pleural Mesothelioma back in April. He refused chemotherapy but had radiotherapy in May which worked really well, and the tumour shrunk quite significantly (was lemon size). He’s not had any other symptoms apart from feeling tired and can still eat like a horse. It has now started growing again and this time he is getting quite a bit of pain with it. For my dad to say it hurts, it must really be painful as this is a man that never takes tablets. The pain is in his back between his shoulder blades, so not sure if the tumour has spread there as we can only feel it at the front (between his breast and collarbone). He has got the aggressive type (can’t remember the name) and it does grow quickly, as we’ve noticed how big it’s become within the last couple of weeks. My question is, will he be able to have another course of radiotherapy on the same area? He does have an appointment with his consultant later this week, but I want to get as much information as I can to prepare myself if this is something that can’t be done. My dad sometimes doesn’t tell me the whole truth to try and protect me.

I'm sorry to read that your dad has been diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma and it's quite possible that he might be withholding information from you thinking that he's protecting you, I think it's a dad thing.
I can't answer your question but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies from the other members of the group yet. While you're waiting you could give the nurses on the Macmillan Support Line a call and talk things through with them. I hope the appointment with the consultant goes well and you're able to get all the information you need.
