I was diagnosed with Peritoneal Mesothelioma in May of this year ( I had symptoms in March, but so uncommon I gather it took them until May to find out exactly what it is ).
I am currently undergoing palliative immunotherapy ( Nivo and Lipo ) but, I am guessing that this is just a 'lets see what happens' type of approach. I further gather that , if it works at all, I may get a couple of years out of life at the most.. probably less but who knows?
I understand that I am unlikely to be a candidate for Cyto Reductive Surgery and warm HIPEC ( At Basingstoke ) but has anyone had any experience of this procedure and is it , ultimately, worth it? I gather it takes a year or so to get over the procedure in itself which, if it only prolongs life by a couple of years seems a bit excessive or am I wrong. Just interested to hear from people who have gone through this procedure.

Hi so sorry to hear this it’s a dreadful disease to have my husband had plura mesothelioma he was diagnosed in May had immunotherapy but they stopped it as not working not a very nice disease to have as no cure for it I had never heard of it before that’s because the government keep it quiet 2300 people a year are still dying with this I hope everything goes well for you
Hi, sorry I cant answer your question as I have pleural Meso and dont know anything about the procedure you have mentioned. With regards immunotherapy I dont think it is being given to you just to see what happens as it does help in a lot of situations. I do think you should call the support line that Brian has mentioned though and ask to have a chat with one of the Meso nurses.
