As a family we are planing to take my mum who has recently been diagnosed with mesothelioma abroad to Europe this summer. She is keen to stay in Switzerland in the mountains. Whilst being diagnosed she had the VACS procedure and talc was put in to seal her lung. My dad is now very concerned that if she stays at a high altitude (4500 feet), this may adversely effect the talc and could cause it to weaken? Does anyone know if this is the case - will try and get some clarification from a surgeon too - would appreciate anyone’s views or experiences on this.
thanks in advance
Hey Jocoju!
Why don't you give the Mesothelioma UK number a ring on Monday? I'm sure they can find someone to ask and then relay it back to you.
