My husband was diagnosed with mesothelioma 2 years ago.  He,s now at the stage where they can offer no more treatment, they were pleased at his last appt, that he,s gained weight, plays golf 3/4 times a week.  He has a pleural drain which he drains every week himself.

We are hoping to book a holiday which includes a short flight to Germany .  We are now thinking of whether or not he,ll be allowed to fly

Has anybody ever flown with this condition.

    Hi,

My husband was diagnosed in Aug 2017 and we flew to Malaga in January 2018.  Everything was fine.  We did let the travel insurance company know that he had a drain in place.  Hope this helps.

Thanks Linda, Henry phoned our Macmillan Nurses today but the lung ones were,nt in till tomorrow so we,ll wait till tomorrow.   Henry was diagnosed in Sept 2017.  We did fly to South Africa before Christmas but the original drain had been taken out,  as the fluid had stopped building up.  Then 3 days before we came home his breathing problems started again so he had another drain fitted.  Thank you for your help.  Good luck to you both
