3 months of husband's immunotherapy - scan coming up, worried they will stop treatment

Hello all,

My husband is about to have his 5th treatment on Immunotherapy.
His breathlessness is still his main problem. We thought he had a few improvements here and there but in general, his acute breathlessness appears when he lightly exerts himself or talks too much.

On MyChart, many of his blood results have improved though.

He still gets a stabbing pain in his right ribs (the site of the discovered mesothelioma). He takes Nuromol. He’s also had some stomach bloating and loss of appetite problems. We thought hid breathing would have had a more tangible improvement by now. Has anyone had very little improvement to  breathing and being able to continue Immunotherapy?

He now has his 3 month scan to check if the treatment is working on Saturday 15th. I’m worried they will say it’s not working and will have to start chemo.

Thanks for reading my rambling message x

  • Hello

I am Brian one of the Community Champions here at Macmillan. I have just noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as i have a different cancer, however by me replying it will be "bumped up" to the top of the page and i hope seen and replied to by other Community members.

i notice your husband has a scan on Saturday so i wish you both all the best and I hope you have some positive results,

Don't worry about a "rambling message" - sadly when you are a member of the cancer family it is a worry and sometimes it's better to get your thoughts out than keep them to yourself.

If i can do anything for you please do let me know,

    Best wishes - Brian.
