Hi all
So as my melanoma is now stage 4 ,has spread to my lung and liver. Decided we need to live not just exist,as don't know how long I have.
MRI and CT today to see how the spread is responding to targeted therapy.
So booked a holiday.
Insurance. £2000. More than the holiday.
Any one else in same boat?
I just want to go away and enjoy a holiday. The past 2 years have been hell. Thought cancer had gone to now be at stage 4.
Any hints or tips would be very welcome
How do you live with cancer ,when you can't even get affordable insurance
Hi
I have also been frustrated by trying to get travel insurance for a cruise to see the Northern Lights. The company were insisting on cover.
I’m afraid to say I have given up on the idea and opted for a coach trip to Scotland instead.
I did find a blog or article on MacMillan with suggestions of some companies who will insure at a price.
I hope you do get away all the best X
Hi Balfazar
Unfortunately, as you've found, it can be more difficult to find reasonably priced travel insurance when you've had a cancer diagnosis so can I recommend that you join us over in the travel insurance group where you'll find recommendations from others who have been successful. Once you've joined look for the thread called 'recommended travel insurance' as this is where the majority of recommendations are.
Most people say that it's best to phone the insurance companies rather than try and do online quotes as often at the end of the online quote it will tell you to phone the company and you'll then have to go through all the information again. Also, sometimes the broker can refer to the underwriters to see if they would provide cover when an online quote might just give you a straight refusal.
I hope this helps and you're able to find some reasonably priced travel insurance so that you can enjoy a holiday.
Thank you Latchbrook.
I will have a hunt for the travel insurance group.
Clicking on the link in my previous reply to you will take you straight there
