Hi OneCatMe
I had a WLE on my upper left arm and SLNB in my left armpit. I was fortunate that I had 'retired' before surgery so didn't need to think about work.
I guess a lot depends on what sort of job you do. Obviously if it involves a lot of lifting then you'll need to take more time off work than if your job is more sedentary. My wound sites felt completely comfortable after about a week and by two weeks I had full mobility back in my arm.
When you go for your pre-op next week they should be able to tell you how long you're likely to need to be signed off work for.
Let us know how you get on
Anne
OneCatME,
I had WLE on the side of my head and the SLNB down from my ear to my neck.
Op Friday, back in work Monday. Worked half days for maybe the first week and then back at it full-time. I have a desk job which probably made it easier.
Hope it goes well.
Nick
In today for the WLE and SLNB, had the mapping yesterday. Been in overnight as I live 2 hours away from the hospital. I can’t fault the hospital for how quickly things have moved.
Although feeling rather nervous now
Hope it goes well! Keep us posted.
Sending positive thoughts!
My initial diagnosis was end of April 2025, my WLE and SLNB was early July 2025.
Home and feeling groggy and tired. Also in a bit of pain now as the morphine is wearing off
I remember that feeling. Thought I was hardcore and brave.........then the drugs wore off. Didn't sleep well for a couple of night as I couldn't get my head comfy on the pillow.
