Hi all, I’ve previously being diagnosed with stage 3C for which I had surgery and followed by adjuvant targeted therapy which I finished in August 2024. I’ve had a recurrence in the same area and again just had surgery. Would I now be offered immunotherapy as standard on the NHS having already had targeted therapy. Thank you

  • Hi there sorry to hear you’ve had a recurrence. I can’t answer your question unfortunately but just wanted to ask how you got on with TT? I too have stage 3c and recently had a node dissection in my groin. I am due to start  adjuvant TT in 2 weeks and wanted to hear from somebody in a similar position. I hope you get some positive news. Take care and all the best for the new year x

    • Hi, thanks for your reply. I’m probably not the best person to ask about TT as I didn’t have a great experience and got a lot of side effects but everyone is different and I know people who’ve sailed through it. My advice would be listen to your body and if something doesn’t feel right contact your team don’t wait until it gets too bad and rest when needed. Good luck.
  • Hello. I had target therapy following stage 3c in 2024. Had to stop early due to extreme side effects.
summer 2025 diagnosed with recurrence in nearby lymph nodes. Had a full groin lymph node dissection but scans after showed further lymph node involvement so started immunotherapy ipi/nivo every 3 weeks for 4 cycles. Just had my third cycle. Plan is to scan after 4th and go from there. Hope this helps.

  • Hi Kermit,

My experience isn't exactly what you're asking about but hope to share some positive news. Sorry to hear about the recurrence. I got that too  - I was Stage 3 then it recurred but it had spread beyond the original site on my leg by going into lymph nodes in my torso. It might be a good thing that yours doesn't seem to have spread (same area). It's also good you were able to have surgery. I wasn't because it was too tricky to operate on the torso lymph nodes. So instead I had 2 years immunotherapy which has had a positive result and my tumours did not spread more, they decreased and are now stable.

I hope you get the support you need. You could try looking at the NICE guidelines to check if you'll be offered immuno, although you may have already done that?

    Best,
