Hello everyone

I have to make a choice tomorrow between immunotherapy and targeted therapy.  I have a number of autoimmune conditions and have ME/CFS so am likely to experience side effects.  The immuno is more unpredictable for side effects I’m told.

i want to give myself the best possible chance does anyone know if one of the treatments is better? Any reasons, suggestions etc welcome.

thank you all

  • Hi Stanley, I know it’s a very hard decision to make I was the same in deciding. I went for the immunotherapy just because it was the newest out for Melanoma and my surgeon had told me great things. But unfortunately for me it didn’t go well, I was a healthy 52 year old no underlying issues my side affects were joint pain, nausea, enlarged heart, inflamed bowel, burnt out pancreas. Only managed 4/9 treatments. Was stage 3C but it looks like it has spread waiting for scan results. I do think I’m very unlucky as there has been a lot of people with mild side effects. Obviously it’s down to the individual, but I’m not sure about the targeted therapy as I haven’t experienced that as yet.

Good luck with your decision. Hope all goes well
