Metastasized melanoma new diagnosis

Morning hope everyone ok. I had a malignant melanoma in April last year which was removed with WLE and SLNB and all clear. Now 16 months later 2 more lesions appeared, 1 in the actual scar and 1 next to it. Very small and looked like an insect bite. Had them removed 2 weeks ago and results back with metastatic melanoma. Also discovered a small pea sized lump in groin. PET scan tomorrow so absolutely terrified of what the outcome and treatment will be. I’ve previously had breast cancer with lumpectomy and lung cancer with lobectomy but all clear post op with no further treatment. I feel more worried with this melanoma than anything I’ve had before. Has anybody had a similar experience with melanoma and offer any advice? Thank you

  • Hi

Sorry to read that your melanoma has metastasized and I can totally understand your worry.

I didn't have this happen with mine, but there are plenty of people in the group who have had this happen. Responding to you will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

How did the scan go yesterday?
