Wide excision

  • I have now had my wider excision on Saturday 23rd and was shocked to hear the Dr say it'll be 4 weeks until I get the results. I didn't expect to hear about awaiting results. I thought that would be it. I didn't find the experience very pleasant as I'm a right scared cat. I took the dressing off yesterday. Stitches are pulling but it's OK. I hope that's the end of this for me. Stitches out in 2 weeks.

    Unfortunately, 4 weeks is about the average wait to get results back from a wide local excision (WLE). Just try to distract yourself doing pleasant things in the meantime.

    As you say, hopefully this will be the end of your treatment.
