Have an appointment tomorrow nearly 6 weeks after my SLNB and WLE. Presumably its results day (the letter is very formal in nature and just confirms the appointment place, time and date).
Have managed to ignore it for the last few weeks (well apart from the two big scars on the right side of my head).
But now its got real again and I am both anxious and nervous and hence struggling to concentrate on the day job.
I was in exactly the same situation in February this year, so I understand just how you feel. All I can say is that I hope it’s a positive outcome.
Keeping all fingers crossed for you!
Thanks SilverAspen and Penny2025.
Happy to absorb all the positive energy you are sending over!
I have also felt like this.
A good friend with cancer told me this about scans: 'Unless someone actually tells you 'There is a problem (in your body)' you have to live as if there is no problem (in your body).
Even if there is a problem that you don't yet know about, worrying about it won't change it. If eventually someone says there is a problem, they will also tell you how they're going to approach resolving it.;
Hope this helps and that you get the support you need.
Warm wishes.
That’s a really helpful way of looking at our situation, even though I know it’s easier said than done. I have a quote on the home screen of my phone, attributed to the Dalai Lama:
“If it can be solved, there's no need to worry, and if it can't be solved, worry is of no use.”
Well they tested 5 lymph nodes and found melanoma cells in one of them.
CT scan next and then immunotherapy.....
Sorry to hear that Elmer, hope you’re doing okay
Thanks Penny2025, feeling quite positive about it. As long as we have a plan of attack then I'm good as I can then just trust the process.
Thanks for sharing the outcome. I’ve been thinking about you today and wondering how you got on.
Let’s hope it stopped at the lymph node. The main thing is that you’re in the system now, and everything that can be done will be.
Wishing you all the best.
