Scarring after wide local excision

I hope I can answer you question I had mine on the front side of my leg some time ago now . My skin graft failed mine was the size of a large orange it was a perfect round shape . The skin graft didn’t take so I am left with an unsightly jagged hole but it has filled in somewhat . so I think it will improve . I am conscious of mine I feel if the graft had taken it would be much better . Hopefully yours will improve in time but better a war wound than a melanoma . I have been unlucky and have had four  I am stable now and have been for 5 yrs

I’m also concerned about my upcoming surgery and the resulting scar but if it makes the problem go away and the SLNB is negative that’s the main thing.  Mine is on the back of my arm and I’ve already had a procedure as they thought it was a bcc but turned out to be stage 2a melanoma.  Another 2cm margin needs to be taken from my already 4/5cm scar and the plastic surgeon has said my arm will probably look different to the other one.  At the moment there is a small dent.  I just hope this is my first and last melanoma!  Best wishes to you all.
