I’m a month post radical lymphadenectomy in my axilla and yesterday had 1100ml of seroma drawn out of the area. It has been very uncomfortable and restricting. Has anyone else had such a large build up of fluid? Can you have the area drained multiple times, or is there a solution where a drain is left in situ for a length of time? The area is already filling up and I despair at the thought of it swelling to the same degree? Will it eventually be absorbed in time, or will this be a permanent or long term problem?
Although I don't have any experience with a seroma, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
I've searched the group and found these previous posts which mention a seroma for you to have a look through. You could reply to some of the more recent ones if you think the OP could help you further.
I hope you're able to get it sorted soon as it sounds very uncomfortable.
Anne
