Hi, I had my original Melanoma in situ removed from my leg in 2016. Earlier this year I noticed a red rash appear on the scar site.
this has been confirmed as being Melanoma again. I have had a WLE as punch biopsy confirmed this & stated it was 0.4mm.
This was closed just with stitches.
The results from WLE are that it is actually 0.5 mm (stage 1 A) so a further operation is planned & I have been told it will cause a dent in my leg so I will have to have a BTM ( Biodegradable Temporizing Matrix) on for 4-6 weeks, before it is grafted.
has anyone had one of these? If so what can I expect?
many thanks
Hi Woodstock1 and a very warm welcome to the group although I'm sorry to read that you've had a recurrence.
I haven't had a BTM, and drew a blank when searching for previous posts which mention it, but hopefully someone here might have had one but just not posted about it yet.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
