  1. Hi. Just wanted some feedback if possible please. Had SNLB in armpit and neck in Sep. Positive in armpit. CT scan revealed no further melanoma, which was great. End Dec, had ultrasound and further CT scan. Doc appt on 2 Jan revealed melanoma returned in armpit and back, plus now gone to lungs. Very shocked. Upsetting for my wife. Oncologist appt booked for 29 Jan to discuss immuneatherapy treatment plan. This seems so long away but apparently is quite quick. I'm hoping someone could give any positive reaction and anything I can do to help myself. Already quite active and fairly healthy(ish!) diet. Many thanks
  • Hi natasha2412,

I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Mestatic melanoma over 20minths ago and it has been some journey. I have had many bumps in the road along the way but I have been cared for so well by my oncologist, cancer nurses & the immunotherapy team. In regards to how long your waiting for your appointment, it’s actually quite quick but won’t feel like that for you but so much work has to be done behind the scenes before they begin treatment.

Wishing you the best of luck and if you want to ask any questions please don’t hesitate to ask x

  • Hi, I’m a little ahead of you on my melanoma journey. I had slnb and wide excision in December 2022, both were clear then at a follow up scan in October a lesion on my lung was seen to have increased in size. I started on nivolumab immunotherapy in November. I’ve had 2 treatments so far and due my 3rd next week. No side effects to speak of.

  • Thank you so much for the reply. Trying to stay positive. Good luck to you and I'll keep you posted.

    Take care

  • Thank you do much for the reply. Great about no side effects. Long may that continue and I'll be hoping for the same.

  • Start my treatment 14 Feb. 4 sessions 3 weekly of ipil and nivol. Then nivol every 4 weeks. Going to try and stay positive and deal with problems when they arise. I suppose the first scan after the double treatment will be first big test.

  • I’ve had 3 treatments of Nivolumab so far, had my first scan last week and tumours in my lungs have shrunk.
    Stay positive x

  • That's great news. Congrats. Always good to hear positive messages. X

  • I know everyone is different, but as a matter of interest, have you had any bad side effects? List of possible ones is lengthy but I suppose they have to cover as much as possible. X

  • I’m only on Nivolumab so there are fewer side effects, so far I’ve been ok a bit tired and the odd headache but that could be coincidence. My consultant told me that lots of people get through treatment without any trouble and quite often any potential problems are picked up through your monthly blood tests and dealt with before they get going x

  • Thanks for info. Here's hoping side effects not too bad. Take care x
