Hi all
I am very new to this forum I had a lesion taken off my upper right back shoulder area in August. I had to wait over 9 weeks for the result as I've been advised I have a rare aggressive soft tissue cancer not the best news I've ever had. I am under the plastic surgeons at Preston Royal Hospital. Last Monday I had the wider excision of lesion and must say the care has been great. Then Wednesday I had a ct scan and I'm waiting for my results. I am just wondering has anyone got the same type of melenoma as me also wonder whats around the corner ...I should imagine alot of us are wondering the same thing. Any advice will be gratefully received. Thanks Lynnette
Hi Ivybow and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
My melanoma was also a rare one as it was an amelanotic melanoma. I hadn't heard of the type you have so searched the group to see if anyone else has mentioned it but drew a blank I'm afraid. However, as it's called a 'pleomorphic dermal sarcoma' you might also want to join and post in the soft tissue sarcoma group, as I can see people there have posted about pleomorphic sarcomas.
If this is something that you'd like to do, clicking on the link I've created will take you there where you can then join and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
