Hello, my husband has several 'low level' melanomas in which have spread from an original melonoma he had last year. Although 'low level' we were told this is incurable and he will be given maximum immunotheropy treatment from Jan to try to give us a few years. The doctor said there is a 50/50 chance his body will respond and there are potentially serious side effects. Does anyone have any experience of Immunotheropy they can share, I'd love to hear some positive stories right about now, as its still incredibly raw and difficult to not think of the worst case scenario.
I’m more than happy to answer any questions. So no it hasn’t spread to any other organs. I was Initially referred to the breast clinic at my local hospital under the two week thing. I had a mammogram, ultrasound where they took a biopsy and saw a consultant during that first appointment. The results showed it was melanoma which had spread. I was then referred to dermatology who were unable to find the mole.
As I said, I’m happy to answer questions. I know you’re asking on behalf of your husband but this is the first time I’ve spoken with anyone who has the same cancer I’ve had.
When I came out of hospital, my husband knew more about stomas than I did! That’s YouTube for you.
best wishes to you and your husband x
