Hi does anyone have any experience with sabr, I have been offered it if surgery is not possible because my melanoma has returned only had Ned in (July or August)and skipped my lymph nodes and just developed in my abdomen I had a lump removed from the front in November then scanned which found this 3rd lump attached to my abdominal wall near my liver. I am now stage 4.  I am also quite ill on a daily basis and was wondering if it knocks you about. I am also awaiting Braf results Thanks for reading

  • Hi HelWWFC, I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis, SABR was mentioned to me as an option once if surgery wasn’t possible, it wasn’t offered at my hospital though, it would have been a trip to a London hospital for it. I haven’t had it, surgery was possible for my node but didn’t know if this link would help, you’ve probably found it already.

I am BRAF positive though and I’m on my second month of Encorafanib and Binimetinib, (not all my current melanoma could be removed) in 2015 I was on Dabrafenib (before they offered Dabrafenib and Tramatenib together). These are also offered as an adjuvant therapy to stop things returning.

  • Hi KT thanks for the reply sorry for the delay I have not been well. My hospital that did my 1st surgery have already transferred me to another hospital as they have a specialist melanoma oncologist but luckily it's o my a few miles away and Queen Elizabeth in Birmingham will be my surgery or Sabr which is still only 10 miles away so not to bad.I will take a look through the link, all the best going forward to you

  • Glad that the hospitals you are using are close by for you. Good luck for which ever treatment they are now recommending for you. Keep us in the loop of how you get on.
