Hi everyone this is my first post.
For the past week I’ve had a sore back in the area that my mole is in and also back pain. Im not sure if my mole itself is sore or if it’s the area around it. The mole itself is quite red, raised and looks different to the others on my back although it’s hard to see it other than off photos my partner has taken for me. I’ve tried to find literally any posts where people have had soreness with their mole but I can’t find any. Everything I search online points towards melanoma too when there’s soreness. Has anyone experienced soreness with their mole?
I have a GP appointment tomorrow morning to have it looked at but I’m honestly terrified. I spoke to my mum, partner and 2 sisters about my worries and nobody was interested enough to listen.

It's natural to feel apprehensive about seeing your GP tomorrow but you've done the right thing in making an appointment to get your mole looked at. If the GP thinks there's the slightest chance it might be a skin cancer then you'll be referred to see a dermatologist.
When I first noticed 'something' on my arm it wasn't a classic looking dodgy mole but was slightly pink and initially sore. The soreness did wear off after a short time. My GP didn't think it was anything to worry about but referred me to see a dermatologist. If your GP refers you then I'm happy to tell you what to expect with that appointment.
It can be difficult for people around you to know what to say and people do tend to say things like "I'm sure it's nothing" or "don't worry you'll be fine". This isn't because they don't care but because they want to reassure you, or they're not sure what to say or just feel awkward discussing something they don't know anything about.
