Hello All,
my mum has just been diagnosed with mcl. She is alone, I live in a different country from her. I am so scared and desperate. Feel totally useless.
Hi and welcome though sorry to read about your mum, we understand the worry a cancer diagnosis can bring and not being close by will only add to that. It will help if you read about your mums type of lymphoma from a reliable source and a good place to start is Lymphoma Action. The are lots of booklets you can download to read and videos to watch that explain all parts of the journey, here is a link to the page about MCL https://lymphoma-action.org.uk/types-lymphoma/non-hodgkin-lymphoma.
Has said whether she is going to have treatment yet as for some types of mcl patients are placed on watch and wait as this can be both slow growing or faster growing with the latter type being treated when diagnosed.
If you can share a little more we can help with support and advice specific to your mums disease.
any questions just ask, someone is always around to answer.
John
