Hi there fellow sufferers. I am new to the group . I have just had five days in hospital during which I had my first round of R-Chop

It wasn’t a bad experience really and in the ten days following, not too bad then either. I know my WCC is very low already , and am on injections x10:to boost production .
I keep waiting for the “ hit by a bus “; feeling that a nurse said some patients report.  What are your experiences, or does that feeling happen later in the six cycles of chemo.

Take care everyonev

  • Hi Kaygal and welcome to the group, I had DLBC and had 8 rounds of rchop, the first felt like a walk in the park the second not so bad though I was sick and then the effects became progressive and fatigue kick in. Some do sail through treatment and others find it does become more challenging with each round so see how it goes.

Are you having RCHOP or are you on the Nordic Protocol? where they add to the regime on alternate cycles.

    Any questions just ask

we all know this is a roller coaster ride, where we ride blind, never knowing where the highs and lows are
  • Hi there and thank you for responding. I am on R-CHOP, although the Consultant did briefly mention the Nordic regime . I am afraid I opted for RCHOP as the Consultant seemed to think I was a fit 73 yr old  and I wasn’t so sure about the Nordic. I am now thinking that the disease itself is so insidious that I put up with symptoms that really were very warring. So side effects of the treatment doesn’t seem so bad . I might be biting my tongue soon ! Do you have any experience of low body temperatures ? Mine seems always low.
    Take care
