Hi All! I was 46 with 13-year-old-twins when I was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma. Fortunately, I've been in remission now for almost 3 years. I just posted a blog on this site that I think will be helpful for newly diagnosed patients and their friends and families. Please check it out if you're interested.

Mantle Cell Story

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community although I am sorry to see you joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.

I don’t have Mantle cell lymphoma but I was diagnosed way back in 1999 at 43 with a very rare, incurable but treatable type of CTCL - NHL Low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma ……. eventually reaching Stage 4a in late 2013 when a second, also rare type of aggressive PTCL - NOS NHL was then presenting so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ is different I do appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.

I see from your Mantle Cell Story that you live on the other side of the 'big pond' as in the USA. This Support Community is run by the Macmillan Cancer Support Charity who are mainly a UK support platform....... so it is important to remember that our Health Provision in the UK is rather different from that of the USA.

Your story like my story is full of twists and turns but we both are still standing....

  • Wow Mike! Yours is quite a journey! Makes mine look like a walk in the park.

  • The Cancer journey is an unwanted rollercoaster…… we just have to hold on tight and ride the bumps.
