Hi I’m new here, not new to lung cancer but here we go.  9 years ago diagnosed lung cancer successful lobectomy upper left lobe, 5 years on hoping to complete remission, concern re something in right upper lobe, 1 year later another successful lobectomy upper right lobe.  Since then 6 monthly CTs and 2 days ago got the news of a nodule in left lung - oh bugger - so awaiting petscan and biopsy and then meeting with the powers to be to discuss what is next on my cards.  I’m 72 been retired from police for 12 years and currently escort children with special needs to/from school, I’m a very positive person but have to say that on this occasion I’m scared still positive but scared.  Just helps putting pen to paper all I need now is tests all done and a decision trying to keep it together but not being very successful

  • Hello ,

A warm welcome to the lung cancer forum, although I'm very sorry you have the need to join.

You've certainly been through the mill already, but hopefully the latest nodule will prove to be benign. If not there will still be other treatments available depending on the precise results of the scan and biopsy.

I know from experience what a worrying time this is for you and wish you all the best for a favourable outcome. In the meantime if you need additional support Macmillan can offer this and I've attached a link for you to see what they can do for you should you wish to follow this up.

I wish you all the best, Derek.
