Hi all
As if having a brain tumour removed in 2022 was not enough, I have decided to trump that by getting lung cancer.... The lung biopsy failed but the team are certain I have cancer of some kind and that it is best to remove it. I am under Guys and am waiting for a date to have a lower left lobectomy. It seems forever to get this date and it has been 3 months since my original referral. This makes me a little anxious because we do not know what we are dealing with. I am trying to get as fit as possible in the meantime. Glad I found this group.
Hello Carorob,
A warm welcome to the lung forum, although I'm very sorry you have the need to join. It's very tough to get cancer treated once only to go through it all again a second time. This happened to me with lung cancer (right lung removed and chemo) followed by prostate cancer 2 years later which is now incurable.
The positive aspect here, although I know how it doesn't feel like it, is that you're able to have surgery which gives you the best possible chance of a cure. My lung surgery was 12 years ago and I've had no more problems with it since.
I hope you soon get your appointment to put your mind more at rest, in the meantime getting as fit as possible will put you in a good place for the operation and recovery from it, so keep up the good work.
I wish you all the best for a succesful outcome.
