Hello.
I was diagnosed in September 2025 with Lung cancer and secondaries in my liver, bone and adrenal glands.
I had a traumatic liver biopsy which failed and refused a lung biopsy , unwilling to go through a similar experience again, considering the risks involved.
Because there is no sample of my cancer, personalised drug treatment is unavailable for me, and I have decided not to accept any further exploration.
Is there anyone here who has refused all treatment other than monitoring for pain relief and any other symptoms.
Thank you
Hi GrannieG77346b welcome to the group but sorry you find yourself here.
Refusing treatment is a very personal choice, and not a decision anyone will make lightly, but you have to make the right choice for yourself. I have known people to stop treatment and say that they have felt peace within themselves once that decision was made.
Can I suggest that you also join the Living with incurable cancer forum - patients only where you will meet lots of different people with an incurable cancer, some on long term treatment like myself, but also other people who’s treatment has been stopped, or have decided not to continue themselves. Just click on the highlighted link above and it will take you to the group.
Thank you
I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.
