Hi Welshlad,
I hope you find out really soon. I find waiting for results the most difficult thing.

Hi so do I and was not expecting stage 4 theysay tratable but not curable
Yes the waiting. Your brain can run riot knowing there's something growing and you want it out. Try to be strong we've all been there. nothing seems to move fast enough.
I've had two doses a lung one out last October, that was following a bowel one in 03. There are a few of us had more.
I was offered the choice, Chemo' or Surgery. I opted for surgery I didn't fancy the side effects of Chemo'. I felt once it's out it's gone but that's me. Everyone to their own. Maybe if I'd opted for Chemo' the first time it wouldn't have come back. But I would still go with my choice.
I feel fine now and my normal self, just a little sore still in the surgery area but nothing really.
Good luck
Hi Jagman
I too didn’t have chemo after my first bout of lung cancer. They’ve found it’s spread to one adrenal gland and nowhere else. I’m having two lots of chemo, adrenal gland removal then two more lots of chemo. First lot of chemo tomorrow. I’m so glad they’ve sorted the treatment quite promptly.
Good luck Daisy
Hi, I hope they tell you soon and it all goes well for you. I’m a little nervous about the chemo but I’m telling myself all will be well. I think a positive mental attitude is very helpful if you can manage it.

Hi welshlad welcome to the group but sorry you find yourself here. I know how scary all of this will be for you. Which treatment you will be given will depend on the type of lung cancer you have. There are lots of treatments now for lung cancer, and many people are now living much longer lives with this disease. All treatments sound scary, but everyone reacts differently to treatments. I know that chemo sounds daunting but some people get through it without any real side effects at all. They keep a very close eye on you, and you are given anti sickness tablets and steroids to help with the effects.
The important thing to remember is you have been told it is treatable. Lots of us here were told the same thing that we are treatable but not curable, and are still here many years later. You can still live a good life with lung cancer. Things may not be quite the same, but how can life ever be the same once you have been told you have this disease.
Once you know your treatment plan there will be plenty of advice here for you. Please let us know how you get on.
Hi
My friend was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in August 2023. It was discovered after a severe bout of not being able to breathe, so was taken to A&E where they found a pleural effusion and partial collapse of her left lung, so was admitted and 2 litres of fluid was drained which contained cancer cells. The Oncologist said it was "treatable but not curable". Because the tumour was diagnosed as SCLC after biopsy and quite large surgery was not an option, so she was started on chemotherapy and subsequent immunotherapy.
My friend, apart from losing her hair, had no problems with her chemo, no nausea or any other side effects, also no side effects with her immunotherapy. So, two years later and she is living normally, the chemotherapy shrunk the tumour and the immunotherapy appears to be keeping what is left of the tumour stable.
I also was diagnosed with upper left lobe lung cancer NSCLC in August 2023, happily mine was caught early and after just radiotherapy treatment all seems well.
I hope this information gives you a bit of reassurance, because hearing the words "incurable" can be a blow. Best wishes for whatever treatment you are started on and keep in touch. We have all been or are going through similar and this forum helps a lot, just even to have a rant at times.
Ann
Thank you very much for some reassurance much appreciated
