Hi
i have been diagnosed with stage 3 Adenocarcinoma with two tumours one in each lung. I have had no symptoms and it’s come as a shock as you can imagine. There is no cure but it is treatable to prolong my life.
I have had a CT Scan and biopsy of a lymph node and now have to wait for a meeting with an oncologist. The doctor did say some tests have come back which look positive for immunotherapy which he seemed pleased about.
I am devastated at 58 to receive this diagnosis and won’t have to have a PET scan or Broncoscopy which i am relieved about.
It’s a scary time and I’m hoping someone can give me some idea of what to expect next and I know timelines differ but any information would be helpful.

A very warm welcome to the lung cancer forum, although I'm very sorry you have the need to join. I'm Derek, one of the community champions on here. It is indeed a great shock to receive a diagnosis especially when you've had no symptoms.
The situation regarding precise treatment should become clear once you have your appointment with the oncologist. I didn't have immunotherapy as it wasn't in use when I was diagnosed but it has become a very successful treatment with great results. I'm sure other members of this forum will be along soon to give you the benefit of their experiences.
Do let us know how you get on with the oncologist and the treatments proposed so others can offer some practical advice. In the meantime if there's any other questions just ask.
