Hi all
My dad is 78 years of age having breathing issues but when resting he's ok. Went for CT Scan found abnormality on scan. Says referred to IDL team suggested Fibrotic Changes.
Also stated found a incidental 10mm nodule on lower left lung as stated they are going to do a further CT Scan in May to check it's not growing.
We have not been to see Consultant yet. Just wondering if anyone can shed light on this.
Thanks
Thanks for getting back. My dad was a smoker but kicked the habit in 24 years ago. Three mo the ago he took homself to A&E with breathing cut long story short, kept him in 10 days. On cardio ward. Did extensive blood tests, chest X ray etc. Outcome was Pneumonia and Heart failure. Was treated for pneumonia sent home. week later got a letter saying he never had Heart failure then discharged. Only for me telling my dad to go back to G.P then after this Scan these were found. I have put a complaint to PALS as can't believe they missed this. X
Hi, devils advocate, if they didn't do a scan, it could have been missed. My mum had an X ray shortly before testing properly started which was clear, I too wondered why it wasn't picked up then, but apparently it can often go unseen in x-rays.
Yes, an X Ray doesn't always show the problem - my lung cancer didn't show but due to symptoms (coughing blood) I was sent for an MRI scan which did show it.
