Hi all. I was diagnosed with lung cancer just over two years ago following an CT scan which found a lesion in right upper lobe. The CT scan was for something else. I never had any problems with breathing or any pain so was astounded to learn I had cancer I had surgery a lobectomy. I have been fine following the surgery & no concerns with all follow up scans until this last one and following PET scan was told on Friday that I have another lesion in lobe below but also the cancer has spread to four lymph node’s in trachea. I am having a bronchoscopy next Monday to determine what type of cancer it is. I was informed that they wouldn’t be operating ? And would be chemotherapy or radiotherapy. I’m really scared now it’s in my lymph nodes that it’s not going to be curable & what the treatment will involve.
Jack I can’t answer your question as I have only come on here recently having been diagnosed with 6cm cancer in upper right lobe ( like your previous experience no pain no breathing problems so big shock). Mine has also spread to 2 lymph nodes but not sure which ones. Since I’ve been in this chat group there have been lots of positive comments re treatments even if the cancer has spread. I hope you get some answers soon.
